Out of the Office :: 03.23.08

I will be out of the office Sunday, March 23 through Wednesday, March 26 for the holiday and will return to the studio on March 27.  I will have limited access to email while I am out but I will respond to all email and voice mail messages once I return.  Have a wonderful Easter!

Gina and Michael :: 03.22.08

Gina and Michael were married civilly 8 years ago but had always dreamed of being married in the Catholic church.  Their dream came true on March 15, 2008 when they renewed their vows at Our Lady of Grace in Noblesville, Indiana.

I thought the bell tower at the church was so cool.

Isn't she GORGEOUS?!?!

Meet their oldest son.

webGM2.jpg

Love it!

The flowers were so vibrant.

You all know me and my shoe shots...

webGM4.jpg

Awww.

webGM7.jpg

I found these beauties playing by the church windows after the ceremony.  I couldn't resist.

webGM8.jpg

Details, details.  I LOVED his modern chocolate tux.

webGM11.jpg

I love the way she is looking at him.

webGM9.jpg

This one would make an awesome metallic canvas.

webGM10.jpg

So so so so sweet!!!  It just screams happiness!  Album cover?

webGM12.jpg

Classic Cakes in Carmel made an awesome cake, as usual.

webGM13.jpg

The flowers tasted as good as they looked!  Believe me, I ate one.

webGM14.jpg

The centerpieces were so vibrant.

Party time!

webGM16.jpg

The dance floor was hopping all night.  This group really knows how to party!  Here is the bride having a BLAST with 2 of her 3 sons.

webGM17.jpg

Thank you so much, Gina and Michael, for having me share your special day with you.  After hearing your story, I am so thrilled that you finally got to have the wedding of your dreams!

28 :: 03.14.08

Today is my 28th birthday.  I have always loved my March 14 birthday because it's also Pi Day!  28 is a bittersweet number because while I'm really pushing 30 now, I'm loving life.  I know I have said this before, but I am so blessed and so thankful for each and every day on this planet (and that's a lot of days considering I have been around for 10,227 days -- including 7 leap days).  So today, in honor of Pi Day, Albert Einstein's birthday, and my 28th, do something you love!  I'm having Yat's for dinner.  I just cannot get enough of that stuff!  Happy 3.14159265!!!

Naomi and Zachary :: 03.13.08

Naomi and Zachary met in college on the beautiful campus of IU in Bloomington.  One semester before they were officially a couple, they shared seven of seven classes.  It was only a matter of time before their like for each other turned into love.  Although they moved out of state after graduating college, they remained true to their college roots and wed on March 8 at the church they attended while in college.  It was a snowy day but the sun was shining and love was in the air.

The beautiful church.

Isn't she lovely?

webNZ1.jpg

And who doesn't LOVE stila?!?!

webNZ2.jpg

Almost ready.

webNZ6.jpg

I absolutely loved Naomi's bouquet -- it was classic and fun at the same time.

webNZ3.jpg

The groom and some of his best friends got in a game of foosball before the ceremony.

webNZ8.jpg

So fresh!

webNZ7.jpg

I couldn't resist shooting the bouquet in this gorgeous window!

webNZ4.jpg

Naomi was just about to head down the aisle.

webNZ9.jpg

I always enjoy capturing a father giving away his little girl -- it's such a joyous, emotional, sweet moment.

webNZ10.jpg

Their wedding bands are from Ireland.  Aren't they unique?

webNZ5.jpg

Naomi and Zachary had a cool idea for a guest book.  They had loose pages for each guest to draw and write memories for the bride and groom.  Included on the page was a spot for the guest to write how far he or she traveled to attend the wedding.  This feature was especially cool since they had guests from Thailand, Germany, and many states!  When the guest was finished filing out the page, he or she put it in the 3-ring guest book.

And the new Mr. and Mrs. are off!

webNZ13.jpg

Have fun in St. Lucia!

Don's 80th :: 03.05.08

Humanitarian and war veteran Don turned 80 (or 20) on February 29, 2008.  Amazingly, they welcomed a brand new baby into their family on that day as well!  The Moreau family along with HVAF of Indiana hired me to document this surprise party for Don.  When I arrived to the meeting place, I found our limo for the evening -- a stretch Hummer.

webMoreau1.jpg

Don and his wife pulled up in a yellow cab, right in front of the Hummer.  They had no idea the Hummer was just the beginning of their adventure for the evening.  Once they got the news, they hopped in.  Look at that happy birthday boy!

webMoreau2.jpg

Rashid with his grandfather, Don, just outside the War Memorial (our first destination of the evening).  I love everything about this photo -- the golden light, the city background, and the love between a grandfather and his grandson.

webMoreau3.jpg

Hundreds of friends, family members, political figures, community activists, and veterans gathered here in the auditorium for a fantastic presentation documenting Don and the amazing things he has accomplished throughout his life.

Don, while active in the military.

webMoreau5.jpg

Don's son, Bill, had arranged for various signs to be placed throughout the event.  How fun!

webMoreau6.jpg

The centerpieces were patriotic and quite beautiful.

webMoreau7.jpg

After the presentation and the reception, family members headed over to The Milano Inn for a late dinner.  The kids crammed into the Hummer.  They just could not get enough of it!

webMoreau9.jpg

This woman was clicking away with her Polaroid instant camera all night.  I thought she was so adorable!!!

webMoreau10.jpg

Happy birthday, Don!  I had a blast spending the evening with you and your family!

Lauren and Steve :: 03.01.08

Lauren and Steve were married yesterday in a private ceremony in downtown Indianapolis.  As you can see from the dress blues, Steve serves our country in the Coast Guard.  Thank you, Steve, for your service.  Here are just a few of my favorites from their special day.

The happy couple...

Her ring is so unique.
