Lucy :: 01.27.08
I had the pleasure of photographing the beautiful and spunky 9 year old Lucy in her home today. Lucy is an aspiring
actress/model who has recently signed with an agency. Here she is in her pajamas, reading her Matilda book. Ahhh,
the joys of being 9 again!

This black and white junkie loves color too! :: 01.22.08
Alright, I'm the first to admit that I am a black and white junkie. There is something about a black and white
photograph that just does it for me. Maybe it is the simplicity yet complexity of the blacks, whites, and shades of
gray displayed in a true black and white photograph that draws me in...or maybe it's the nostalgia I have for the dark
room. To me, there is something incredibly striking about a good black and white photograph.
That being
said, I'm also a color fanatic! I love bold punches of color -- especially in unexpected places, like a bright colored
door in a dimly lit alley or hot pink shoes on a bride in all white. The contrast really makes the colors pop.
How
about this ring shot from one of my January weddings? This will surely brighten up their wedding album! (And it's
quite fitting since the guys got ready in the Art Room.)

New albums coming soon! :: 01.20.08
I have been working fervently to design new sample albums -- including new guest books -- to add to my product line.
I am just about finished and I am so excited because I will be sending them to the printer soon!!! Stay tuned!
And...because
people like photos...here is a sweet moment for your viewing pleasure. Enjoy!

Kristen and Adam :: 01.12.08
Kristen and Adam met during their internship in the Senate. They sat about three feet away from each other, face
to face for about four months. As the intern supervisor was setting up everyone at their desks, she thought to herself
this could either be a very good thing or a very bad thing. As it turns out, it was a very good thing. Everyone
thought they were dating through most of the internship but it was not until the last part of the internship, due to Adam's
patient persistence, that Kristen finally gave in. They decided to exchange vows at the Statehouse to celebrate the
impact that the building and their experiences there had on them.
I had the pleasure of photographing this beautiful
couple on their very special wedding day. The whole crew was all smiles all day! The weather was absolutely gorgeous
-- especially for a winter day! It almost felt like spring! Here are just a few of my favorite photos from their
special day.
Jill did an awesome job on Kristen's makeup!

Gorgeous!

Isabell, the flower girl, is absolutely adorable.

McNamara did an awesome job, as usual, with the flowers. I LOVE the green -- it really brought a fresh/spring
feel to this winter wedding!
Of course I am a sucker for shoes.

Check out the awesome programs (and note their logo)!

Kristen and Adam decided to see each other before the ceremony. As soon as Adam walked into the room, he told
Kristen she looked gorgeous and they kissed. There is nothing more real than the first time a groom sees his bride.
I love these private moments!

I told you it was a beautiful day. Just look at that sky.

Working the back lighting...

FAVORITE! So so so sweet!

It's all about the details! :: 01.09.08
I am such a sucker for details because the small details are what make each wedding exciting and different! Here
are a few of my favorite wedding details from 2007.
Rock star! I'm meeting with this bride soon to design
their wedding album. I think this would be an awesome album cover!

So simple, yet so breathtaking.

What's better than custom rings on a piston? This is my favorite ring shot EVER -- I have it hanging in my
studio gallery.

...and my favorite shoe shot ever!
I promised color!

Another rock star!

I think there should be a colorful candy buffet at every wedding. Yum!

This is the the absolute coolest guest book I have ever seen.

I love it when couples do something unexpected. Fun cakes rock!

Getting Ready (2007) :: 01.07.08
For those of you who have been photographed by me, you know how much I love the whole getting ready process. For
many brides, the pre-ceremony ritual is about more than just mascara, false eyelashes, lip gloss, hair, and that perfect shade
of eye shadow. It's serious bonding time with the girls. I love sharing this special pre-ceremony time photographing
the bride, her close friends, and family. There is just something so real and honest about the time spent behind closed
doors, where the guys aren't allowed to peek until the girls say so.
Here are a few of my favorite 2007 wedding
images of girls getting ready.

Gorgeous light!!!

MAC rocks!

The flower girls have to get beautified too!

Stay tuned for more 2007 wedding favorites including fun, vibrant, amazing "details."
Note
to brides and grooms: I have a few 2008 wedding dates left. Send me an email if you'd like to chat about your
photography options.

Molly and Tony :: 01.05.08
Molly and Tony were married on January 5, 2008 at Cornerstone Center for the Arts in Muncie, Indiana. This was the
first time I had ever been to that building and oh my -- it is breathtaking! The building itself is a real work of art.
Their wedding had a winter wonderland theme -- with shades of blue and silver -- complete with snowflakes, romantic lanterns,
and an ice sculpture!
Marta of Hand Tied Memories designed the gorgeous flowers.

Although Molly's favorite color is actually red and not blue, she is in love with sapphires. Check out their
gorgeous rings!

One of the flower girls had just finished getting ready.

Molly is putting on the finishing touches to her makeup before stepping into her gown. Her Audrey Hepburn hair
was a real hit!

So elegant.

Here is Molly, waiting for her groom who is just about to open the door!

You may now kiss the bride! (Look at those gorgeous arches!)

I'm a sucker for details.

Molly and Tony passed out jars of ingredients (cocoa, sugar, chocolate chips, and marshmallows) for homemade hot chocolate.
How fitting for a winter themed wedding!

Delicious!!!

Happy New Year! :: 01.01.08
Making resolutions is a cleansing ritual of self assessment and repentance that demands personal honesty and, ultimately,
reinforces humility. Breaking them is part of the cycle. -Eric Zorn
Here's to a fantastic 2008!
